List Guidelines

1. A list which disappears when playing will no longer cause a stop condition when the system checks for changes to the list upon arriving at the end of the list. It will continue to play until a new list is loaded or an updated list with a name matching the current list is put back on the unit.

2. When the DVC file initializes a list it will set the list name and (VOLATILE) configuration to LISTNV.SMIL.

3. When a LIST SAVE command is issued it will save the list to the filename appearing in the list and to the (NON VOLATILE) configuration file. It will not cause a general save of all the configuration settings only the list name.

4. Any list named LISTNV.SMIL will be saved in the /var/local/lib/dtrans directory which will be unavailable to users to edit or modify from media control or FTP clients. The only way to modify it is to use DVC files or API commands.

5. Any list named "LISTNV.SMIL" will not be checked for time stamp changes. Thus a user who names his list LISTNV.SMIL and uploads it to the box will always be ignored for changes and WILL NOT be confused for the list created by a DVC file when the list loaded reads "LISTNV.SMIL".

6. If a user does upload a file named LISTNV.SMIL and issues a list load [ABSOLUTE PATH]/LISTNV.SMIL, the file will be treated like a normal list but will show in the CONFIGURATION and LISTNAME as having a path whereas the LISTNV.SMIL created by a DVC file will not have a path. This list loaded with the absolute path will be treated as a normal list.
